In Kingston-Falls, detective Gabriel Serpent's (Maxime Le Flaguais) vacation is abruptly cut short when a corpse is discovered in a rather unusual position.
In Hervé Lebrun's (Guy Thauvette) field, a body is found buried head-first, buttocks sticking out of the ground with a bicycle wheel shoved inside. It's a disturbing scene—almost too bizarre for a small town like Kingston-Falls. Gabriel Serpent is called to the crime scene just as he was starting his well-deserved time off.
With their small police station facing permanent closure, Serpent and his four-officer team are determined to prove they can handle more than just a missing parrot. However, their plans are turned upside down by the arrival of Cynthia Quinn (Marie-Ève Milot)—nicknamed "The Bloodhound"—an investigator known for her questionable methods and her fondness for alcohol.
