Synopsis

With a stellar cast, this reboot of the Quebec TV classic is a big hit some 50 years after the original version aired. Les pays d’en haut is a historical drama that deals with the huge challenges of land settlement, the role of the church and political issues, as the characters struggle against the hostile wilderness and meet their unpredictable destinies, epitomized by the famous love triangle of Séraphin, Donalda and Alexis. This fifth and final season will kick off with some new plotlines. After the death of Curé Labelle, Séraphin Poudrier keeps his position of deputy minister, and catastrophe strikes Sainte-Adèle. Séraphin made some promises to the priest. Will he keep them?
