Now that AI can generate fake videos with uncanny accuracy, how are we to distinguish truth from falsehood, reality from illusion? This six-part, one-hour miniseries dives into one of the more chilling questions of our time: undetectable deepfakes. When we can no longer trust our eyes and ears, who — or what — can we still trust?
For 25-year-old Stéphanie, everything changes the day a compromising and humiliating video of her mother goes viral. Though “experts” confirm its authenticity, she’s certain it’s a fake — one that has destroyed her mother’s political career and shaken the foundations of her powerful family. But who made it, and why?
With no background in espionage or investigation — and no gift for lying — Stéphanie assumes a false identity and lands a job at a startup she suspects has the technology to create hyperreal deepfakes. What begins as a personal mission quickly spirals into something far bigger: a dangerous conspiracy with global implications that draws her in against her will. As she edges closer to the truth, she learns that reality is far more fragile than she had imagined — and that the most perfect lies come at a very high cost.
