The sudden death of their father, François Chabot (Charles Bender), forces estranged siblings Rachel (Eve Ringuette), Nathan (Samian) and Nibi (Océane Kitura Bohémier-Tootoo) to reunite on the family's wilderness estate. François's will is clear: ownership of the Kadebwe outfitting lodge and its surrounding land will only pass to his children once they agree on its future. Until then, he hands interim management solely to Nibi — a decision that instantly reignites deep-seated rivalries among siblings who have never trusted one another. Tensions boil over when the outfitting territory falls into the crosshairs of the local Band Council and eager real estate developers. Both groups want to build a new residential neighbourhood desperately needed by a community facing a severe housing crisis. While Nathan envisions a lucrative payout and Rachel looks forward to a brand-new home, Nibi fights to protect the land of her ancestors — and the heritage she holds sacred.
But Nathan and Rachel have no clue that Nibi is guarding a far more dangerous secret. While their father was sick and struggling to keep the lodge afloat, he made a desperate, highly illegal deal with a shadowy “client.” Nibi hopes to leverage this connection to gain powerful allies who can help her block the sale of the land. Little does she know, she's entering into a pact that will put her life — and the lives of everyone around her — in extreme peril.
Kadebwe is a gripping drama about a fiercely loyal yet deeply dysfunctional family caught between traditional values, modern greed and survival. Against a backdrop of cultural realities, ancestral pride and grief, the siblings must learn to bridge their divides to protect their true heritage, proving that unity is the only way to save what truly matters.
