Synopsis

Two years after the turmoil of Season 2, just as everyone thinks they’ve regained their footing; no-one suspects the final crash is still to come. Set against a backdrop of instability — political threats and polarization, climate crisis, cultural upheaval — the final season of Avant le crash explores a key question: What is a life worth, if it leaves no trace? And with their forties imminent, how do our characters envision the next 10 years?

Marc-André has it all — an extraordinary partner, a promising career, money, amazing friends. Despite it all, he’s tormented by loneliness. Obsessed with starting a family, he finds himself slipping back into old, toxic patterns. Meanwhile, Évelyne is successfully steering Olstrom toward venture capital. With her bold new vision of the business world, she’s carving a path through a landscape where the glass ceiling still looms large. But to realize her ambitions, she may first have to face up to a deeper question: For whom — and for what — is she working so hard? In parallel, François 2.0 is rebuilding his life with his new partner, Sabrina, a meditation coach. But beneath the calm veneer, the shark is always ready to strike. Will he finally manage to balance his professional and personal life? Back from the North, Patrick and Marie-Michèle find themselves mired in contradictions as their ideals of voluntary simplicity turn out to be far more expensive than expected — and significantly less appealing than their former lavish lifestyle. Will they succeed in sticking to their beliefs? In the meantime, Vincent desperately seeks to prove that he still carries some clout in the business world. Watching the adults around her flounder, Florence — the voice of youth — struggles to make her own way, both in love and in preparing for her high school prom. Dominique, refusing to be overlooked because of her age, remains the clearest-eyed of them all, seeing through the games everyone is playing. Clara, on the other hand, will have to learn how to play by the book, though without losing her spirit in a world where convictions and values are all too often overshadowed by profit.

Through this rich tapestry of characters, Olstrom finds itself involved in a major social issue: Quebec’s digital and cultural sovereignty. Amidst the barrage of threats from our neighbours to the south, safeguarding our data and culture has become a top priority. The ultimate crash won’t just be financial; it will also be identity-based, shaking our sense of who we are down to the core. In this context, our protagonists will have to face some hard questions: What kind of society are we leaving for our kids? And will we be able to sleep at night, knowing we’ve abandoned them?

With Evelyne (Karine Vanasse) and François (Émile Proulx-Cloutier) embroiled in a messy divorce, Vincent (Benoit Drouin-Germain) gone AWOL, and Patrick (Mani Soleymanou) and Marie-Michèle (Myriam Fournier) grappling with a new family structure, Marc-André (Éric Bruneau) would appear to be the one who's faring the best.

Dominique (Marie-France Marcotte) and François are now out of the picture, clearing the way for Evelyne and Marc-André to become Olstrom's new dream team, much to the delight of Taschereau (Pier Paquette). They're on a roll — but for how long?
