Synopsis

Mafia groups, street gangs and outlaw bikers pose a growing threat to state security, the economy and the very foundations of democracy as they work to destabilize the political order. Drug dealing, large-scale human trafficking and violent score-settling are merely the visible tip of a vast criminal iceberg. What appear to be isolated incidents that undermine safety and social cohesion often conceal the deeper, more dangerous forces — sometimes allied, sometimes at war — infiltrating every sector of society. Their aim: total control. Against such an enemy, force is the only viable response. And that's where the Antigang squad comes in. This team of dedicated detective sergeants is made up of Jean-François Bégin (Patrice Robitaille), Mathilde Lapierre (Catherine Trudeau), Philippe Parizeau (Irdens Exantus), Caroline Daigneault (Karine Gonthier-Hyndman) and Frédéric Nadeau (Fabien Cloutier), under the leadership of lieutenant Christian Thibeault (Vincent Graton).

The series Antigang follows these skilled investigators, who find themselves not only caught in the crossfire of the country's crime syndicates, but also in a struggle with their own personal, family and romantic interests. The series also takes us into the private spheres of the underworld leaders and the day-to-day repercussions of their criminal activity. We see, too, the relentless anxieties of source agents and informants, torn between the need to uphold a façade of loyalty and the betrayal that this necessarily involves. Ultimately, even the most notorious criminals have their human side. Behind that humanity, a new force is quietly taking hold — led by women.
