At 44, Mathieu Laforest (Pierre-François Legendre)—father to Arno (Yoan Charbonneau) and Zackary (Louis-Julien Durso)—is a divorced kidult whose ex-wife, Ariane (Madeleine Péloquin), has moved on with the ever-so-sensible Jean (Guillaume Girard). Mathieu's own life, however, has clearly not gone according to plan. Instead of achieving the glory he once dreamed of, he finds himself working for his father (Louis-Georges Girard) at a car dealership that is being handed down to his brother Pascal (Alexandre Goyette)—the prodigal son and former NHL star. Perhaps that is why Mathieu, consciously or not, has made self-sabotage his sport of choice.
The fifth and final season of Plan B explores the meaning of our time on Earth with both humor and gravity. Ultimately, Mathieu's journey confronts us with an inevitable, fundamental question: What would we change when faced with the unavoidable—knowing that we cannot escape our own death?
