What happens when you uproot your entire life for love, only to have it blow up in your face? Malgré moi is an original Franco-Manitoban scripted series that follows the messy, hilarious and heartfelt journey of Daphné. On a flight from Winnipeg to Montreal, Daphné reflects on her impulsive decision to leave everything behind to follow the love of her life, Ilunga, to the Prairies — only to be met with a devastating betrayal.

Stung and humiliated, she decides the only "logical" thing to do is stay in Winnipeg, move in with two dysfunctional siblings and start plotting her revenge. But as she strikes up an unlikely friendship with Joëlle, a local café owner eager to hire her, Daphné begins to wonder : Is she actually looking for payback, or has she stumbled upon the chosen family she never knew she needed.
