Synopsis

This series, based on a Dutch concept, subjects 50 volunteers to various science experiments, some of them wildly funny, in order to test hypotheses and draw conclusions about certain types of human behaviour. Le gros laboratoire takes viewers on a unique adventure of discovery, revealing some surprising facts about Quebec society and demystifying complex psychological mechanisms.

In each episode, expert science popularizer Jean-René Dufort and science reporter Marie-Pier Élie present three or four experiments focusing on various aspects of human behaviour: fear, sex, humour, racism, money, perceptions, skills, prejudices, appearance, age, etc.
