Blanche is the sequel to Arlette Cousture's Les Filles de Caleb. In '20s and '30s Quebec, Blanche – daughter of Ovila Pronovost and Émilie Bordeleau – becomes a nurse. With her father away in Abitibi after leaving the family, Blanche is offered a job as a company nurse in the same region, newly opened for settlement. Arriving at the same time as a group of settlers, she's got a hard job ahead of her, especially as she wants to set up her own clinic.
