A year after the scandal that upended their lives, Antoine Meilleur and his family are enjoying the good life on the Magdalen Islands. But their peace and quiet is threatened when erosion creates a huge hole on their property, with their home at risk of slipping into the ocean at any moment.
Antoine lets his emotions get the best of him and rants against climate change in a video that goes viral, attracting media attention once again. That's when he teams up with the environmentalists in the underground group Les Canaris, which includes Stéphane, Annie (a brilliant woman on the autism spectrum) and Dave (a radical eco-activist) but some of their initiatives get them into serious trouble.
Meanwhile, Kim, a psychologist doing couples' therapy on the Islands, is finding it hard to respect professional confidentiality in a place where she regularly runs into her clients. She decides to give up her professional credentials and become a "couples' life coach." While Kim's popularity is growing, Antoine's is in freefall as new scandals erupt. Since he's short on time to oversee his clinic, he calls on Dr. Armand Lapierre for help but that ends up causing more stress. Plus, Dr. Jolicoeur's arrival on the Islands revives old tensions.
With his polling numbers hitting rock bottom, Antoine wonders if he'll not only lose the election but his role on the Islands. Should he have been content with a quiet life outside the public sphere?
