These picks are rated on the Mazza Scale — a 1-to-10 system (from breezy reads to complex masterpieces) based on writing style, length and overall accessibility.

In the second season, Mariana explores the massive popularity of cookbooks, dives into the manga craze, joins a book club and investigates the art of the biographer.
