The birth of the Dionne Quintuplets during the Great Depression is hailed as a miracle. The gullible Oliva Dionne (Roy Dupuis) and Elzire (Céline Bonnier) sell the “rights” to their children to government bureaucrats, who turn them into a lucrative international tourist attraction. Horrified by the situation, the Dionnes fight for the right to raise their children and will stop at nothing to prove to the whole world that love is stronger than fear and more important than money. This film brings one of the more scandalous episodes in Canadian history to the big screen. For the first time, the surviving Dionnes tell their side of the story.
