New documentary series on contemporary art
Each week, Les contemporains presents instructional and creative workshops that give emerging artists the chance to produce a body of work and have it critiqued by well-known personalities on the Quebec art scene.
Once the workshops are over, a jury of influential people from the art world, including
Jo-Ann Kane, President of the Association des collections d'entreprises du Québec, Mark Lanctôt, curator at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, and art critic Nicolas Mavrikakis, will assess the progress of each artist and report on their artistic development. The artist who most impresses the judges over the series' seven-week run will be rewarded with a $10,000 grant from TD.
