LA MAISON OÙ J'AI GRANDI is a documentary series that follows Annie-Soleil Proteau as she embarks on major renovations to her family home, the one she was never able to leave. It's a project that has her going back into her memories and thinking about how she put down roots in Hochelaga; her neighbourhood, her village.
As we watch the renovations proceed, we meet her father Michel, who still owns the family home. Although he says he approves of the work that will completely transform his space, he's not crazy about the lasting impact on the family legacy that he built and has maintained for all these years.
The triplex's renovation is also the backdrop for getting to know Anne-Soleil's “village,” her Hochelaga, her surroundings and the ties she has built with the community, and to understand her strong desire to remain rooted in her “Hochelag.” Her borough is a socially diverse neighbourhood that she loves, understands and shows us all.
