Synopsis

LA GRANDE TRAVERSÉETuesday 8 p.m.* The documentary series La grande traversée recounts the incredible adventure of the first French colonists to arrive in New France by re-enacting their voyage across the Atlantic in 1706. Under the same conditions aboard a large sailing ship typical of the time, 10 French-speaking Canadian participants will sail from the port of La Rochelle, France, and make a spectacular 45-day crossing to Quebec City. Dressed like their ancestors, living on similar food and forced to travel under difficult, historically realistic conditions, the 10 participants will let us vicariously relive this thrilling time in our history. *Subject to change without notice.
