Ici et maintenant features touching, engaging and inspiring stories of people whom host Pénélope McQuade – herself once seriously injured in a car crash – urges to live in the moment. Pénélope makes a surprise visit to her guests with assistance from somebody who knows them well. She then helps them create a meaningful experience or fulfil a dream in the here and now. Social workers, psychologists, anthropologists and life coaches occasionally appear on the show to explain why we act the way we do.
