Although it would never produce direct armed confrontation between the free world and the Soviet Empire, the Cold War was the ultimate psychological battle. Distorting information, telling lies and adopting all forms of censorship were commonplace methods of trying to take control and impose an ideal and beliefs. The goal was also to stir up love and hatred for two antagonistic values: liberalism and communism.
